Got to hangout with these people the last four days!
From the airport and went right to a yummy dinner of course 🙂 Those green beans…SO good!
I knew the weather was going to be rainy, but holy cow did it pour! Pretty much all day everyday I was there. It’s OK though, I just loved hanging out with Jenn and kids. I drank lots of warm tea out of my new favorite mug that Jenn gave Dave.
Got the kids off to school Friday and went right to the Y where Jenn works out. We were mostly just being silly by the end. Off to get some yummy brunch and get Max from school.
La Tartine. It was SO yummy!
Shared the Huevos Rancheros and those those mini apple turnovers…gah, yes!
Took a piece of this Pistachio cake to go for later. Yes, yes it was amazing.
And what’s that? The sun?! I had to take a picture of the backyard for the 10 minutes it was out. 😉
Dropped the kids off at Dave’s sisters house (they live there now, so fun) so we could go see Half Moon bay. We knew the weather was bad, but holy crap…the wind! I’m amazed Jenn got out and took a picture with me.
We stopped two different places. The second lot Jenn had to be on a phone call for about 10 mins. Turns out here battery died in that time so we were stuck! Thankfully there were a few other crazy people checking out the view so we got a very nice man in a big truck to jump the car. Seriously though, I’ve never been in winds THAT strong before. It was nuts!
She drove us the long and very pretty way back to Redwood City. Went to Calafia Cafe before we picked up the kids. Jenn’s dish was so good. Mine? Not so much. Bummer!
Off the San Francisco fairly early Saturday morning. It rained the least amount that morning. Just enough time for us to go see a bunch and eat more good food, of course. The Ferry Building!
Glad we got their early before tons of people showed up. All the shops and places to eat are just awesome.
Max chose one of these.
Awesome mushroom stand.
Max LOVES the crab and lobster tanks.
Steamed bun with pork and scallions for breakfast.
All the meats!!
And pretty, pretty veggies outside at the Farmers Market.
Bay bridge. It was cold, windy and rain on and off.
Had to share the Chilaquiles. Wow, so so good!
Jenn is such a good tour guide. She knows the good spots to eat and see.
She took us down Lombard Street! We were down in 5 seconds but it was fun.
Then drove out to Lands End. Wish we could have walked around a lot more. Next time!
And ended at the Sutro Baths. This place would be really fun to explore next time as well.
Back home for the day since it started more. Lots of coloring with Kate, throwing Max around on the couch and just playing.
The view out Max’s window. It’s just so pretty!
Sunday before I had to head home Jenn took me around the Stanford Campus. It.is.beautiful and just so full of history.
The church was just gorgeous inside.
Hoover Tower. Next time we’ll go to the top so we can see the view on a sunny day.
Thank you again so much Jenn! Despite the rain and my super delayed flight (I got to bed around 2:30am today) I just loved being with you and the kids in this place you live everyday. Can’t wait for next time!
Oh, and don’t worry…Sam had a BLAST while I was gone. Thank you Courtney and Julia for helping while I was away.
