Northern California {Part 5 Gpa Mike’s}

Saturday was spent at Mt. Shasta Ski park in the morning and Lake Siskiyou in the afternoon.  SO fun!

20130831_101650A family who bikes together, stays together?! I think so!

The ski park is below and the views of Shasta are just awesome.

20130831_110407Dan and I rode up the service road and down one of their lift served downhill trails.  It wasn’t super awesome, lots of dust but it was still fun.

20130831_11473520130831_114752While we were doing that, Grandpa took Sam around and up the chairlift with his bike.  This kid rode his bike the entire way down.  Woohooo! Go Sam!  So.much.dust.  He was so proud of himself.

20130831_115139As we were walking to the table here in this picture, he says to me “That was awwweeeesome, Mom!”

20130831_120757Dan got messy 🙂

20130831_161542After a good nap, we drove 5 minutes down to Lake Siskiyou.  This is amazingly pretty and super easy to get to.  You park right by the water.

Saturday night Dan and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. 20130831_180608

I am one lucky lady.  Dan is even more lucky 😉20130831_181636 20130831_190655

The food at Trinity Cafe was seriously good.  Chocolate torte for dessert!

Sunday morning, Mike shuttled us to a trailhead about 45 minutes from his house.  Dropped Dan and I off and hungout with Sam all morning.  Thank you again!  This was definitely not a bike trail per say, but it worked out just fine.  Lots of hike a biking to get to these beautiful lakes.20130901_113135

And ended with Dan jumping off this bridge at Lake Siskiyou.  4,500 feet of decent later 🙂  I’m going to do a full post on how epic this ride was.  Definitely a big adventure for me.20130901_152044Sunday afternoon was spent at the Blackberry Music Festival.  That pie was so yummy!

And of course, Sam wanted to dance and dance!3gensThree generations.

Monday morning we packed up and headed back home.  We miss being there so much, but can’t wait for our next trip back and for our family to come visit Utah!  Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa!
